OOO

OOO

“The old world is dead.” With humanity absent, the present is suspended: nature remembers, objects make themselves noticed, a defective artificial intelligence is of no help. OOO is also a haunted opera — a world inhabited by remnants of technology, nature and popular memory, where the figure of Dalida returns as a recurring presence: her songs and spectral trace bind the work's thought to a collective emotional memory. Through the dialogue between a houseplant and a bot that cannot imagine, OOO unfolds as a succession of audiovisual rituals: an opera without humans, a ritual for the world after. Created and directed by Emma Terno and Valentín Pelisch.

OOO is not only about objects, artificial intelligence and post-human futures: it is also a work about memory, disappearance and what survives. Dalida returns as one of the ghosts haunting the stage — a popular voice whose songs keep circulating long after the woman who carried them was erased. Through her, the opera asks what remains of a human presence once the bodies are gone: refrains, images, a shared emotion — what the collective imagination keeps when everything else fades.
