Research & LIPS

Research, at the heart of the stage.

At STOPERA!, research happens in practice: on stage, with performers, around voice, body, listening and presence. It takes the form of a laboratory — a time for experimentation, co-writing and encounter between disciplines.

Transmission extends this research: STOPERA! mentors young artists, shares its practices and builds ties with performers, universities and partner venues, in France and internationally. Its international laboratory, LIPS, is its heart.

LIPS

An international laboratory of stage practices.

LIPS — Laboratoire In(ter)discipliné de Prototypes Scéniques — brings together eight to ten emerging artists from all disciplines at each edition: composition, stage direction, visual arts, theatre, dance. Created in 2019, it opens its studios, tools and research teams across three working sessions, mentored by established artists.

A space for exchange, experimentation and co-writing, where transmission happens through practice. Digital tools are common material, never an end.
