Einstein on the Beach

The Latin American premiere of Philip Glass's work. Martín Bauer directs an entirely new staging, in Bob Wilson's footsteps without quoting him: the recurring railway motif points to the train paradox, the thought experiment through which Einstein demonstrated special relativity. Three and a half hours without an interval — ninety minutes shorter than the 1976 Avignon version. Fifteen voices in the pit, three narrators on stage, all amplified.
